Properties: blackgray hexagonal powder. Soluble in acid, insoluble in water, alcohol and ammonia. Easily reduced by carbon monoxide to metallic cobalt. At high temperatures, it is easy to react with silica, alumina or zinc oxide to produce a variety of pigments.
Uses: Mainly used as adhesion agent for glass, enamel, ceramics, magnetic materials, etc., coloring agent for sky blue, cobalt blue, cobalt green and other colors, catalyst, and livestock nutrition. It is also used in the preparation of cobalt salts.
